The Ambassador of Germany to Russia Mr. Walter Jürgen Schmid thanked TPU

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Russian Federation Mr. Walter Jürgen Schmid sent a letter of acknowledgement addressed to the Acting Rector of Tomsk Polytechnic University Mr. Poytr S. Chubik. In his letter Mr. Schmid thanks TPU Rector and staff for the kind and friendly welcome and the events held on October 29, 2008 – the opening of the Regional Centre for the German Language and Culture, and the Award Ceremony of the contest "German is more than the language".

In particular, the letter says: "The goal of the Regional Centre opened by you is to become the area for cooperation between Tomsk oblast and Germany in the field of education and culture to be the example for other regions. It was a pleasure for me to be present at the award ceremony of the contest "German is more than the language". I would also point out an intensive dialogue with your students which I liked very much".
